Lyric Composition Upon Visiting the Debrecen Zoo at Twilight for solo piano was written while I was a guest at the 2008 Debrecen International Colony of Artists, and I performed the premiere at the Kolcsey Center during the opening ceremonies of the exhibit of work by the participating artists.

Here is my comment on how this piece is connected to the 2008 colony theme:

When animals speak, they do not necessarily use the words and grammar of human speech. This does not mean, however, that their thoughts are imprecise. In this way, animals have something in common with musicians.
